Maria Makes Hong Kong final
Maria is through to the final of the JB GROUP Classic in Hong Kong after she defeated #3 seed Anna Chakvetadze of Russia 6-4 6-2.
Both players struggled at first, dropping their opening two service games. Maria finally held in the sixth game to give her a 4-2 lead from where she took the opening set.
Chakvetadze double-faulted to help give Maria breaks in the first and seventh games of the second set and a 5-2 lead. Maria held again to take the match.
"I was a little slow at the beginning, definitely, but the good thing is that I recovered from that." Maria said after the match.
Maria will be making her 3rd appearance in the final here.
In the final Maria will play #4 seed Venus Williams of the United States.
